Haiku Friday: A Sewer Note

Prague, oh, lovely Prague!
Castles. Gardens. Kafka. Beer!
And don’t miss the sewers.
Do your children have their own vacation agenda? Does it involve castles … or dropping Cheerios down gold-plated sewer grates?

How cool are these?!

This is adorable! (And I smiled.)
I must admit – that’s a very elegant grate!
And I think boys continue to love sewers and drainage systems (walking through them, playing in them, dropping things inside them)… well, just because.
Strange, no?

THat’s what I love about Europe. Even the sewer grates are fancy.

My kids love sewers and also fancy excessive discussion of all things related to sewers, if you catch my drift … or a whiff. Those are beautiful sewers.

That is a great picture!!! I always crack up when we go to the zoo and they are fascinated by the ducks…when we have those in our yard!!!

Prague? Oh! Be still my heart. So…how does one get to live in Romania again? I think I need to look into that. All the traveling alone is turning me Hulk green. Just not as strong.

Once, when we were in The Garden of the Gods, a lovely monument to rocks in Colorado, my two year old son, who’d just been introduced to gum, could only see that. So, as my eyes soared to the peaks of sandstone gray meeting cobalt blue skylines he would point and shout, “gum!” I have a photo of him and his 5 year old sister perched precariously in a rock crevasse, while he points. I know what he’s saying. He’s not commenting on the wonders of nature.
