“It is not enough to be busy. So are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?” — Henry David Thoreau

What keeps your children busy? What keeps you busy? And which is more important?

See more busyness at Beth’s later this week.

  1. Cool and awesome 🙂

  2. I’ve been caught up in feeling busy, but not about the right things.

I love the easy busy-ness of my girls – coloring, exploring, moving things from here to there. I guess I do some of the same.

  3. Sand…it’ll keep kids of all ages busy for hours 😉
    Nice captures!

  4. LOVE the quote. And the cookies picture.

  5. really cute pictures. what i really like is when the kids are so busy that they don’t mind me getting my own kind of busy with chores, etc.

  6. Sweet photos. Love that last one.

  7. I have been busy trying to keep up with my doll baby’s growing appetite and diaper changes lately! Love your photos.

  8. Great pics of lots of business! Great quote too!

To answer your question – yes, that’s a real alligator. He was caught at the lake near my house last year. The photo’s a little misleading because you might think the red pole belongs to a swing set, but it is the pole the catcher used. It has a loop around his neck so he can’t get me! He was only 4 feet long and he was relocated to a new home away from our neighborhood!

  9. My children keep me busy and playing, eating, and sleeping keep them busy. Great captures!

  10. What a perfect quote! Makes me want to prioritize and refocus! Cute pics!

  11. Great photos! My baby keeps me busy…. 😀

  12. Great shots! I love the sandy hands.

  13. cute shots!! I love the sand and ball ones. You definitely captured busy! 🙂

  14. I want to be busy eating that cookie too. 🙂 Nice captures.

  15. Oh, playing in that sand looks like fun!

What keeps my kids busy/happy? Eating! Teens seem to live to eat, rather than eat to live. And when they’re not doing that? Music & Facebook!

  16. I love this quote. How true! And I agree with Kate, sometimes I feel I am too busy going about on the wrong things! Ah, well. Beautiful photos, as always.

  17. Sand. No question. And trucks. Everything trucks. And popsicles. Thank goodness for summer!

  18. What busy hands. Great shots 🙂

  19. Haha! My kids don’t really know what sand is…I’m keeping them in ignorance on purpose. But, a flashlight will keep them entertained for hours. That and my stomach.

  20. I LOVE that quote. I’m busy with ridiculous and time-consuming things. I need more time to play. (Great pix!)

  21. Some fabulous shots there, Stacia. The photo with the rubber ball is incredible. Clever you!

My kids keep busy nagging me. Whatever makes them happy, right!? Right!?!?!?x

  22. What keeps my child busy these days? My mom! They’re finally getting along and it’s wonderful! 🙂

Oh and sand too. Beachside living has its perks. Except for my sandy floors and furniture at home. Not loving that part at all.
