“Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby.” β€” Langston Hughes

Summer is Romania’s rainy season. A couple of hot days are ushered out by an afternoon thunderstorm that cools things down and has us scrambling for jackets and hats. My children watch from kitchen windows and porches for the first hint of a blue sky. Then they grab their flip-flops and trek out to stomp in puddles, smash unripened cherries knocked to the ground by heavy raindrops, and watch snails eke by.

Is it raining where you are? Do your children like to let the rain kiss them? Do you?

  1. It’s been pouring for weeks here. Winter rain. Not fun. But the sun’s now out and life is much cheerier. Hope all is well with you!

  2. I love your entries this week!!! I am wishing for rain here – it’s so hot right now in FLorida –
    enjoy your week

  3. We live in Florida and we have rain in the summer and thunderstorms. I always feel like we have to take the good with the bad. I love the puddles too.πŸ™‚

  4. We live in the desert and no, it never rains. July & August is considered monsoon season, but that only means it might rain once or twice a month.

I love the pink profile pic. So lovely.

  5. Funny – it is raining here in the SF Bay Area – almost unheard of given how late it is in June. Your weather reminds me of summer in New England though – hot and humid then relief with the rain. I love a nice warm rain.

  6. Not much rain here of late, which has been a pleasure. I feel like all it did was rain in April. Nothing my kids love more than jumping in puddles … if only I consistently remembered to put them in rain boots on puddle days.

  7. So jealous! It’s too, too dry here. Enjoy the rain!

  8. Pretty! I like the drop coming off the iron piece.

  9. Great shots! I love the little rain drop on the last one, such a cool angle! Rainy days are usually our cleaning/errand running days with maybe a little puddle jumping tooπŸ™‚

  10. What beautiful shots ;D
