“If you want sweet dreams, you’ve got to live a sweet life.” — Barbara Kingsolver

What makes your life sweet? What’s your favorite Barbara Kingsolver book? And what fancy hair trick (à la French braids) can you do?

  1. So sweet and perfect. Sweet life is time with family 🙂

  2. For me, sweetness is summed up in the photo of the adult hands helping a small child. Love that photo. And as far as hair skills. Hah! I have none. I am just able to put my daughter’s hair in a pony tail before her riding lessons! (And even that falls out!) I have to admit I have not read any of Barbara Kingsolver’s books – but I did go look at her website and there are some interesting ones there. I think I will try the one about the copper mine strike. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I don’t know any fancy hair tricks, but I do find the sound of snoring ever so sweet . . . most especially when it’s my son’s. 🙂

  4. love the photos – all of them.. as for fancy hair tricks, i have to learn them now.. my little girl wants them all and i never was one for fancy hair braids growing up.. 🙂

  5. Favorite Kingsolver book(s): Pigs in Heaven (is that right?), Bean Trees, Prodigal Summer, Poisonwood Bible

  6. My grandkids make life sweet, and I just got back from babysitting them in Southern California. As for Barbara Kingsolver, Poisonwood Bible is my fave. And a french braid is all I can do that’s even close to fancy.

  7. The colourful balls make such a cheerful photo!

  8. Oh fancy hair tricks – try a “sock” bun. Take a ankle sock and cut the toe off. Make a pony tail in your hand and put the sock around your pony tail. Then, starting with the end of the pony tail, start rolling the hair over, center of sock to over sock – makes a cute bun! Super quick.

  9. Love these dreamy pictures! Looks like a great start to the summer.

  10. Gorgeous, simply gorgeous!

  11. The different photographs are delightful…

    3 and 4 are definitely my favorite…

My family is what makes my life sweet!

I’m not sure I could pick a favorite book of hers and unfortunately I am a dummy when it comes to hair..

Darling post for the letter “D”!

    Thanks for linking.

  12. The photos are, of course!, incredible!!! My hair trick? I’m about to shave all my off. 🙂 Funding cancer research.

  13. I enjoyed the photos and especially love the star on the gate! Why didn’t I think of that??

  14. Love it.
