“Long before we saw the sea, its spray was on our lips, and showered salt rain upon us.” — Charles Dickens

When’s the last time you felt that lovely salty rain? Where’s the oddest place you found sand? And what’s the best treasure you brought home?

  1. I LOVE the sea!
What a cool photo with the birds flying in the air!

Among the mountains in Colorado are the Great Sand Dunes. Although we went there on purpose, it seemed a surprising place to find sand.
When I was a small child I brought home a little crab. A few years ago I discovered wonderful sea glass. and rocks!

  2. Although I live quite near the beach, I haven’t been there in several years. I have to admit, I am not a beach girl. However, I have a very wonderful memory of the beach near our home when we lived in NY.
My husband proposed to me on the beach near our house. It was a cold, gloomy day, overcast, windy and lots of salty sea-spray rain. It was also one of the most magnificent days of my life!

  3. Wonderful pics, Stacia. I love it. A day filled with magic 🙂

  4. Beautiful captures! It certainly looks like a fun time. It’s been a very long time since I was near the ocean.

  5. far too long since i’ve been by the ocean – it’s time to make a trip before the weather gets too crazy here. when i lived in FL, I found sand EVERYWHERE…

  6. Fun and creative shots for S ~ colors are awesome ~ carol ^_^

  7. I live in the Uk, in January I was 50 my kids asked me what i wanted to and I said that I wanted to go to Llandudno, paddle in the sea then have fish and chips it was cold but great fun

  8. Very nice photos, love going to the sea shore!

  9. You really take such great photos!

  10. Stacia, you’ve captured the essence of spending time near the ocean.

We were near the ocean this past summer. Your images help me relive some of my family moments near the water.

  11. Love all the seagulls flying over the kids.

  12. Beautiful photos, Stacia! It’s nice to see beach photos at the end of September 🙂 We love the beach and can’t believe we didn’t manage to get to the ocean all summer until 2 weeks ago. Better late than never. We want to go over the Christmas holiday too if we can. Hope you’ve been well!

  13. really cute photos! though I’m much into going to the beach.

hope you have a great day.

  14. Great seaside shots! Love the one of gulls flying up, …but all of them are great!

  15. Great sea scenes! We have lived near and enjoyed the sandy beaches of Hawaii, Florida, Georgia…and also the sandy shores of various Wisconsin lakes and Kentucky lakes…but a surprising amount of sand that we lived near was at White Sands Missle Range in New Mexico. It is always fun to find seashells and rocks along the sand…

    Blessings & Aloha!

  16. The oddest place I have seen sand is at a restaurant/bar in Scottsdale, AZ…

It has been some time since I have been sprayed with salty rain…

And I have always had a soft spot for sand dollars – it is always such a special treat to come across one in the sand…

This was a spectacular post for the letter”S”!

I love the photograph with all of those seagulls…

    Splendid job!
